How Kenstow works, from start to finish

Sign inCreate account

The answer is in your documents. Somewhere.

Kenstow finds it and shows you the source. Say what needs to change and Kenstow makes the edit in the document itself. Then it shows you which other documents are affected.

Step 1: Ask

Ask the way you'd ask a colleague. The answer comes from your own documents, with the source right there.

QuestionQuestion · how often must a lone worker check in

A lone worker must check in with the Control Room every 4 hours during their shift (and again at the end of the shift, once they have left the building and locked up), as set out in the Lone Working Procedure (NFS-HS-006). The Site Supervisor may set a shorter interval if the task is more hazardous or the site is remote. This 4-hour rule is confirmed consistently in the Lone Worker Check-in Log (NFS-FRM-004), the Staff Handbook (NFS-HR-001), and the Lone Working Risk Assessment (NFS-RA-003).

Step 2: Change

Say what needs to change. Kenstow makes the edit in the document itself, with current and proposed wording side by side. No downloading, no fixing, no uploading again.

Proposed revision · Rev. D

Requires your review and approval before it takes effect. On approval, Rev. D is created from the original file with these changes.

Requested: check in every 2 hours instead of 4

Check-in interval changed from every 4 hours to every 2 hours.

Section 5. Check-in rule

Current

The rule is: Every lone worker must check in with the control room every 4 hours during their shift. Where a task is more hazardous or the site is remote, the Site Supervisor may set a shorter interval.

Proposed

The rule is: Every lone worker must check in with the control room every 2 hours during their shift. Where a task is more hazardous or the site is remote, the Site Supervisor may set a shorter interval.

Step 3: Related documents

Change one document, and Kenstow shows you which others are affected. Nothing slips through.

Each one stays on your list until you propose a matching change or record that none is needed. You decide.

Other documents that may need a matching change

  • NFS-HR-001 · Staff Handbook 2026

This document states the old requirement that lone workers must check in 'at least every 4 hours', which now contradicts the changed interval of every 2 hours.

If you work alone you must report in to the control room at least every 4 hours, by phone, text or the check-in app, and again when you leave the site.

Propose a matching changeNo change needed

  • NFS-RA-003 · Lone Working Risk Assessment

This risk assessment specifies the existing control as 'check-in, every 4 hours' for two hazards (early-morning opening and out-of-hours call-outs), which now contradicts the changed interval of every 2 hours.

    Control: check-in,every 4 hours

Propose a matching changeNo change needed

  • NFS-FRM-004 · Lone Worker Check-in Log

This form instructs workers to 'Check in with the control room every 4 hours', which now contradicts the changed interval of every 2 hours.

Check in with the control room every 4 hours. Record every check-in below.

Propose a matching changeNo change needed

Step 4: Approve

An approver signs it off, and the history keeps the record.

Analysis

No product-specific document

No document specific to SD-150 exists in the library (it is only mentioned in NFS-HS-003, NFS-MIN-2026-02, NFS-REG-001); the "Occupational health and safety" (process group) documents were used instead.
